IMPORTANT REGISTRATION NOTES:

  1. The Region registers participants only with USA Volleyball.
  2. All participants in any Excelsior-sanctioned events or activities, including but not limited to tryouts, camps, clinics, practices, scrimmages and tournaments must be registered members of USAV. This includes players, coaches, assistant coaches and others. See the Excelsior membership policy for additional details.
  3. “Regular” memberships allow participation in all USAV and Region-sanctioned events. All other memberships are “Limited,” and restrictions apply to participation in National and National Qualifier events.
  4. One-Event memberships are available for one event or short-term tryouts, camps, and clinics (no more than 5 consecutive days for all sessions) at a $10 rate. These memberships can be upgraded to a “Regular” membership by selecting the membership type being purchased in SportsEngine. Be sure to use the same email address; the system will charge the difference between the one-event membership and the regular membership. When entering the event date, use a start date 2 days prior so rostering can take place. For example, if the event is on January 15, use January 13 as the start date so the membership becomes active before the event and the participant can be placed on the team roster.
  5. Adult – SafeSport & Background Screen Required Membership category CANNOT be added to an MMS roster. This membership is intended for non-coaching, non-playing, and non-administrative volunteers designated by the club director to help clubs at events, such as site directors, volleyball handlers/retrievers, work team participants with appropriate certifications, or similar roles. Adults participating with junior club programs will require background checks. Be advised that it is necessary to carry the USAV Volleyball membership card, denoting any certifications and background screening status, at all events.
  6. League Membership category CANNOT be added to an MMS roster. This membership is intended for camps and clinics and is limited to a maximum of 24 hours of participation and 4 consecutive hours per day as a junior player. League memberships are valid for 4 months. League memberships can be upgraded to a full-season membership by selecting the membership type being purchased in SportsEngine. Be sure to use the same email address; the system will charge the difference between the one-event membership and the regular membership.
  7. All adults participating with junior club programs require USAV background checks, a Junior Club Personnel Code of Ethics (JCPCOE), and SafeSport certification. Be advised that it is necessary to carry the USAV Volleyball membership card, denoting any certifications and background screening status, at all events. The system will prompt a response for the background check; it does not initiate automatically. In SportsEngine, click on your membership and use the button to complete the background screening.
  8. ALL MEMBERSHIPS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Excelsior is registered as a not-for-profit corporation in New York State. Membership is not transferable to another individual. Membership is transferable among clubs and Regions of USAV. Memberships can be applied for and paid online via credit card through the SportsEngine link.
  9. Memberships are not valid (current) until payment is received and processed. An email will be received that says “membership approved.” Completing the membership application online and paying by credit card results in the immediate processing of memberships.
  10. ALL Junior Club Directors, Tournament Directors, Adult Team Reps, and Club Admins must have a full-season registration and are also required to attend a Mandatory Annual Administrative Meeting in order to be granted Admin access and/or Event Approval.
  11. Club Directors/Team Reps: A completed 26-27 Club Application form is required for accurate processing.
